Here is a few Tips and Cheats for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. All of these have been tested by me and a few friends and worked fine for us.
[/li][li]Recommended Starting Pokemon[/u][/b]
- The best type of Pokemon in the beginning (in order) are: Water, Grass, and Fire.
- Torchic proves to be the best choice upon reaching later stages in the game, but fairly difficult in the beginning. Mudkip is reasonably strong in the beginning, but weak versus the Elite Four; although Mudkip is a good choice if playing Pokemon Ruby. Treeko is proven to be the best to choose if you are playing Pokemon Sapphire because of Team Aqua.
[/li][li]Absol[/u][/b]
- Absol proves to be a good Pokemon to have in your party when you go up against the Elite Four. It's Slash move (technique) is highly powerful, due to the fact that Absol usually has a High Attack percentage, especially once Absol has reached level 60+.
[/li][li]Berry Master's Wife[/u][/b]
- Give any of these phrases to the Berry Master's Wife to get Rare Berries.
- super hustle
- angry Abra
- cool latios
- challenge contest
- great battle
- overwhelming latias
[/li][li]Mirage Island[/u][/b]
- Mirage Island is visible every day on your Pokedex. It's the big blank spot on Route 131, right before Route 30. You will see a mass of land above it. So, the trick to making it appear is that...there is no trick. Sadly, the island appearing is a complete random event, and there is absolutely no way of making it appear like that. But, it will occasionally appear. You must talk to the man in Pacifidlog who is watching out the window for Mirage Island. If he says that he can see it, Surf to that spot. The island will be there, and you can enter. The island will remain there until exactly midnight, so make sure you get everything you need. Also, a few kinds of Rare Berries are found only on Mirage Island, so make sure you take some while you're there. It is quite likely that the island will appear only once in your entire game. You cannot even get these berries from the Berry Master's Wife, so be sure to take some when you're there!
[/li][li]Chimecho[/u][/b]
- Chimecho is found at Mt. Pyre.
- First, catch a Duskull and a Shuppet. Then have the two of them in the front of your party. Go to the top of Mt. Pyre and walk around in the grass. Eventually, you should find Chimecho.
[/li][li]Catching Latios/Latias Easier[/u][/b]
- First, make sure you have a good supply of Poke Balls with you. (preferably Ultra, Timer, or Master Ball(s).) Then, catch a Pokemon that either has the ability Shadow Tag (such as Wynaut) or a Pokemon that knows the move (technique) Mean Look (such as Golbat) and is over level 40. Add them to your party. Then, once you find Latios/Latias, weaken them (and if you have the Pokemon that knows Mean Look, have your Pokemon use Mean Look on the first turn before you weaken it, which makes Latios/Latias unable to escape. same as the ability Shadow Tag). Once that is done, throw the Ball of your choice at Latios/Latias while pressing the a button repeatedly. This usually enables you to catch Latios/Latias much easier.
